Just be prepared for a life-changing experience!

Tommy Roberts is the Senior Pastor of LifePointe Christian Faith Center. Since 1992, Tommy has been actively teaching people within the local church how to live by faith. He has ministered in many churches throughout the United States and the country of Haiti. He is a passionate and insightful teacher, who delivers the Word of God with ease and simplicity.

God has used Tommy to help rejuvenate those who have been turned off or burned out due to religious tradition, those who have strayed in their walk with God, as well as Christians who desire to hear God’s Word delivered in everyday terms.

Tommy along with his wife Lynette have served tirelessly in church and youth ministry for many years. His past assignments include those of Associate Elder and Youth pastor at Covenant Community Fellowship Church, W-S, NC. Assistant Pastor of Friendship C.O.G.I.C. , Friendship, N.Y., State President of Youth Ministries (Y.P.W.W.) C.O.G.I.C. Jurisdiction #2 of Western N.Y. and most recently Director of Student Ministries/Youth Pastor of Heritage of Faith Christian Center, Crowley, TX.

In November of 2008, God placed a desire in Tommy and Lynette Roberts to move to Iowa City to assist the founding Pastors with their church plant efforts. Out of this move and the ministry transition that came in 2010, Pastor Tommy was installed as the Senior Pastor of LifePointe Christian Faith Center on July 25th, 2010.

The Word of God is Our Truth

LifePointe Church utilizes the Bible as the standard for living and for inspiring people to find a life changing relationship with God. We believe in sharing our faith in genuine, relevant, and practical ways where people from diverse backgrounds can understand God’s message of truth and hope. Although our approach in communicating our beliefs is anything but traditional, we maintain a foundational position of what we believe in.

Our Church is Not a Building

The Church is a local community of people who believe in God and the Bible. The church is committed to inspiring people to find a life changing relationship with God as it seeks to bring the gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying God in the earth

Matthew 16:18-19, Matthew 18:15-20, Acts 2:41-47, Acts 5:11-14, Acts 13:1-3, Acts 14:23

Our God is One

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26–27, Genesis 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14

Who Jesus Christ is to Us

We believe in Jesus Christ as the only Son of God, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to Heaven, and in His personal return. Jesus Christ was completely human when he was on earth, but at the same time completely God. He is the reason for bringing people back into a right relationship with their Creator. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could live life here on earth more abundantly and so we could have eternal life when we die physically.

Matthew 1:22,23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1–5, John 14:10–30, Hebrews 4:14–15, 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, Romans 1:3–4, Acts 1:9–11, 1 Timothy 6:14–15, Titus 2:13

Who The Holy Spirit is to Us

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. He guides believers in understanding the Bible, and provides supernatural help in times of need. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and helps us live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Joel 2:28–29, Matthew 3:11, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:5, Acts 2:1–4, Acts 2:17, Acts 2:38–39, Acts 8:14–17, Acts 10:38, Acts 10:44–47, Acts 11:15–17, Acts 19:1–6

The Bible is More than a Book

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. Human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. Because God inspired it, the Bible is His truth and is completely relevant to our daily lives.

2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Timothy 1:13, 2 Peter 1:20–21, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5

We Were Created to Be Like God

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin” and need to be reconciled to God.

Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:1–2

Jesus is Our Salvation

We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be reconciled to God. Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it.

Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8–9, John 14:6, John 1:2, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1, Romans 10:9–10

Eternity is More than Life

We were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by rejecting Jesus, or we will exist eternally with God by accepting the forgiveness offered through Jesus.

John 3:16, John 14:17, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:17–18, Revelation 20:15, 1 Corinthians 2:7–9

  2. Pastor Tommy,
Tabitha and I have been tithing to you online the last couple of weeks. I am just checking to make sure the tithe has been getting to you. I haven’t been tithing like I should, but the Lord has increased me so I am increasing our tithe. Pray for favor over the tithing and that it only gets bigger so we can give bigger. Pray with us over that if you would. We look forward to giving you and the church a bigger tithe when the blessing arrives. May the Lord bless you and your ministry Tommy.

    With love,

    Jameson and Tabitha
